Hello. I think I may end up blogging here more often as thus far I like the spell check aspect. Being SELF diagnosed dyslexic, it helps in this blog I will not get into all of the why I think that I am dyslexic. That is for another blog later on. So here is the deal. I love to read. A while back I read this great book called French Women Don't Get Fat and it's not a diet but it's a lifestyle book. It's a book that says pretty much everything in moderation except water. This author feels that we American's don't drink enough water. Now this is where I personally say ........... yes and no. I drink about 2 quarts of water a day so don't tell me I am not drinking enough h2o cause that doesn't include the 2 to 3 cups of coffee and the maybe glass of tea or juice that I consume. So there author I beg to personally differ with you. The book was a wonderful read and one that I highly recommend. BTW according to this book bread is not evil and should not be avoided at all costs but should be consumed in portioned amounts with fruits, veggies, and meats. (Now that one is one I have to differ with again. I am a veggie only eater so sorry I will pass on the meats). I am a health nut. In French Women I learned about the art of balance and how to add more to the atmosphere of eating and dining, like we now play music during dinner at our house stuff like Yo Yo Ma or Enya or Kate Rusby or Natalie Cole. I have also added candle sticks to the table and I use them. It makes eating more sensual and more pleasurable. This brings me to my newest book. Skinny bitch and for those who know me you all know that I consider the term bitch to be a compliment. So I same person who recommended French Women says that she doesn't like Skinny Bitch she feels that they are concentrating on making women unhealthy thin. I disagree with her. I have read the first 5 chapters now. Here is the deal thus far.............enjoyable if you can handle blunt and straight forward. It's about eating healthy and eating vegan. Sorry that is the truth. The authors one is a model and the other is a holistic nutritionist state facts about the ills of eating sugar, milk, caffeine, and meat. Like it or not the ladies have done some homework and they make no qualms about telling you about it. Like growth hormones in meat is linked to causing many girls go into puberty early. That is just one example. Thus far I am enjoying the book and I will give one more review when I am finished reading. I must say that other than the caffeine as the authors attack coffee which I can site medical evidence to counter what they say....................... I may just end up vegan after all. I am vegetrarian currently but I am learning things that I never knew and while it's eye opening it's also down right gross. I don't consume dairy but I still eat eggs once in a while. That may very well stop. Ok enough of that for now. I have some house work calling my name. Bright blessings to all of you and I wonder if there are on line programs to becoming a holistic nutritionist. That is something that would interest me. Ok. It's really time to go do that housework as no one else is going to do it and it's been there too long as is. Current Mood: exanimate
